WHITE PLAINS, NY— In the wake of Hurricane Wilma in South Florida, five of the 13 Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. properties in the area are now fully operational again. Seven more are expected to reopen within the next few days. Those that have reopened include the Atlantic and the Sheraton Yankee Trader in Fort Lauderdale, the Sheraton Miami Mart and Four Points by Sheraton Miami Beach in Miami and the Sheraton Beach Resort Key Largo in Key Largo. The Sheraton Suites Key West in Key West is scheduled to reopen today. Tomorrow, the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood and the Diplomat Country Cub & Spa in Hallandale Beach will reopen. Reopening Monday are the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek and the Westin Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. On Tuesday, the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel in Fort Lauderdale will resume operations. And next Friday, the Sheraton Bal Harbour in Bal Harbour is slated to open its doors once again. Meanwhile, the 13th hotel in the area, the Sheraton Yankee Clipper, shall remain closed as a result of storm damage and its scheduled remodeling project.
