NEW YORK— Joseph Spinnato, president of the Hotel Association of New York City, has been appointed to head the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center here in an effort to expedite a planned expansion. According to local reports, Spinnato, who will retain his role at HANYC, is a long-time member of the Javits board. A $1.4 billion expansion of the center was approved a year ago, but has gotten bogged down in political infighting. A convention center hotel is part of the centers expansion plan, but its exact location remains undecided.
