NEWTON, MA—Sonesta International Hotels Corporation has appointed David Starmer as VP and chief information officer. In this role, Starmer will lead the strategy and execution of the company’s global technology investments, operations and resources. He will report directly to Carlos Flores, president and CEO.
Recently, Starmer served as VP, IT store systems for Dunkin’ Brands where he led the worldwide direction and strategy for all in-store technology and related resources for more than 20,000 Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins locations in more than 60 countries. Prior to Dunkin’, Starmer held senior IT leadership roles at Papa Murphy’s International and several other multi-unit restaurant brands. Additionally, he spent five years leading the information technology practice for an international consulting firm.
“David’s knowledge and experience will enable us to better use technology to improve our guest experience, advance our business imperatives and contribute to our continued growth and success in the industry,” said Flores.
