MADRID The weighting of Sol Melia SA has increased on Spains benchmark IBEX-35 index to 0.65% from 0.4% following new stock market regulations under which companies with a free float of less than 40% will only have 60% of their shares counted on the stock market. Following a recent share capital increase and the conversion of bonds issued in 1999, Sol Melia has a free float of 43%. (1/2/01) SOURCE: The Wall Street Journal
