ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA—Sofitel is set to open a new property here in South Australia’s capital city.
Construction of the 32-story Sofitel hotel in Adelaide’s CBD will be South Australia’s first internationally branded five-star hotel for nearly 30 years, according to the company. The luxury development will include 250 rooms and suites, extensive leisure and business facilities, a restaurant, four bars, ballroom, swimming pool, health and fitness center, meeting and conference rooms, and a signature Sofitel Club Lounge.
The hotel will be accessible to Adelaide’s Riverbank Precinct, Adelaide Casino, the iconic Adelaide Oval and Rundle Mall shopping district.
The $140-million hotel development will begin in 2017 and is scheduled to open in late 2018. The hotel will be operated by Accor and will be the sixth Sofitel in Australia. As part of the new structure, the tower will be the tallest residential building in the state with 80 apartments spread across the top eight levels, according to the company.
