NATIONAL REPORT—Texas is home to six new hotel openings, including firsts for Best Western and Tru by Hiton, plus more.

Best Western Debuts Dual-Brand in Texas

Best Western Plus Executive Residency Port of Corpus Christi has opened, becoming the brand’s first dual-branded hotel in the state.

The property has 88 guestrooms, 48 of which are Executive Residency by Best Western suites. The studio rooms are equipped with junior kitchens, and the suites with full kitchens.

To date, Best Western Hotels & Resorts has 35 dual-branded properties in its global pipeline, which includes a dual-branded property in Austin, TX; the number is expected to escalate, according to the brand.

Tru by Hilton Opens in San Antonio, TX

Tru by Hilton is expanding its footprint in Texas with a new property opening in downtown San Antonio. The 95-room hotel is owned and managed by Baywood Hotels.

The property is the second for the brand in the state, and its first adaptive-reuse project for the brand, underscoring the new property’s historical influence.The hotel was once the facade of the 1930s-era Gillespie Ford Building. The first two floors of the new Tru building maintain the original pie-shaped framework of the dealership, with restored stuccowork on the exterior, and a lobby area that is larger than most existing Tru properties.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Sets Up Shop in Terrell, TX

The 82-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Terrell will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by Terffis LLC and managed by Hotel Equities of Atlanta.

Amenities include a complimentary continental breakfast, an outdoor swimming pool, an exercise room, valet laundry service, complimentary WiFi, as well as fax and copy services. In addition, there’s 1,800 sq. ft. of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 300 people.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Opens Near Conference Center

In Decatur, TX, the 107-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Decatur at Decatur Conference Center operates as a Marriott franchise, owned by Gatehouse Capital and managed by Texas Western Hospitality of Dallas.

Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, an exercise room, valet laundry service, complimentary WiFi, as well as fax and copy services. There’s also 750 sq. ft. of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 50 people, in addition to 27,000 sq. ft. of meeting space next door at the Decatur Conference Center for large events.

Four Points by Sheraton Opens in Dallas

The recently opened Four Points by Sheraton Dallas Arlington Entertainment District in Arlington, TX, includes 102 guestrooms, more than 750 sq. ft. of meeting space and a 24-hour fitness center. The property is managed by Cimarron Hospitality.

Courtyard by Marriott Austin Northwest/Lakeline

In Austin, TX, the 118-room Courtyard by Marriott Austin Northwest/Lakeline operates as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Champion Hotels of Oklahoma City. The five-story hotel includes an indoor swimming pool, fitness center and guest laundry, and offers 2,200 sq. ft. of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 100 people.
