HOKKAIDO, JAPAN—Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has opened the Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort, owned by Kiroro Resort Holdings Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Property Perfect PLC.

Following extensive renovations, the resort opens as the brand’s first ski resort in Japan. Situated at Kiroro Resort, the new property offers ski-in, ski-out luxury combined with the brand’s signature amenities and services, according to the company.

“As Starwood’s most global brand, our presence in Hokkaido builds on the brand’s first mover advantage, as we continue to provide guests access to some of the most sought after destinations in the world,” Dave Marr, global brand leader, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts and Tribute Portfolio.

The resort features 140 guestrooms and suites, overlooking mountain views. In the Sheraton Club lounge, there’s complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments and free WiFi. The all-day dining restaurant, Rivierouge, features Japanese and international buffet style dishes, while Hoki Japanese restaurant serves sushi and grilled BBQ choices. In addition, the new lobby bar menu features artisanal small plates and eclectic bar snacks served alongside premium wines and local craft beers.

“The opening marks a significant moment for the Sheraton brand as it returns to Hokkaido, reflecting Starwood’s commitment to accelerating growth in Japan, as well as elevating the hospitality landscape of this celebrated resort area,” Lothar Pehl, SVP, Operations and Global Initiatives, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific.
