STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO— Jeff Carroccia and Ethan Frye, two associates from the Sheraton Steamboat Springs here, raised money in support of New York firefighters and their families, and delivered the funds directly to the Uniformed Firefighters Association of New York by biking from Steamboat Springs to New York— more than 2,200 miles. Carroccia and Frye worked with the local community to raise the more than $8,000 donation, and as a thank you the residents in the area raised additional money to pay for Carroccia and Frye’s journey along the way. As the two food and beverage servers traveled across the country, they contacted firehouses and EMT headquarters in each city they reached after the 90 miles they would travel each day. On November 5th, just over 30 days from their departure, Carroccia and Frye reached New York City, bedded down at the Sheraton New York, and delivered the more than $8,000 that was raised for the Uniformed Fire Fighters Association of New York.
