SEATTLE Occupancy fell 5.7% downtown here in November, adding up to a 2.8% drop for the year. Construction has added rooms to the area, with more coming as hotels such as the Elliott, part of the Washington State Convention and Trade Center expansion, begin to take shape.

However, Bellevue and the Eastside continue to see rising occupancy rates, up 0.9% in November and 2.3% for the year. (1/17/01)
