San Antonio Hotels See Low Sales

SAN ANTONIO San Antonio hotels are seeing a decrease in sales resulting from construction on the city s convention center, and a diminished sales staff at the convention and visitors bureau. The San Antonio Express-News states that July bookings through the CVB dropped nearly 28% this year.

Construction on the convention center limited the amount of space available to large groups, and the smaller meetings booked didn t provide enough hotel business to make up for the loss. (8/24/00)
