POLSON, MT—RLHC (Red Lion Hotels Corporation) has commenced construction on the new Red Lion Ridgewater Inn & Suites Polson located here. The project will be completed in June 2015. The company signed a franchise agreement with a Montana developer who broke ground on the property in November 2014.
Mike Johnson, president of Management Consultants, Inc., and developer of the future Red Lion Ridgewater Inn & Suites Polson, said, “We are excited about adding the Red Lion name to our portfolio because we believe that this brand’s business model will continue to bring heightened value to our business. We are certain this new hotel in the picturesque Polson community will happily serve visitors from all over the world.”
“We look forward to a June 2015 opening for a new-build Red Lion Inn & Suites, just as the busy summer season takes hold in this popular lakeshore community,” said RLHC chief franchise officer Brian Quinn. “This follows the opening of two new franchise locations in Seattle and one in Detroit. We continue to set new milestones as we execute on our growth strategy to expand our footprint across the U.S.”
The Red Lion Ridgewater Inn & Suites Polson will have 80 guestrooms, 32 of which are suites, and nearly 3,500 sq. ft. of meeting space overlooking Flathead Lake. Guest amenities include an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, business center, guest laundry facilities and complimentary WiFi and breakfast. A popular Montana eatery, MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub, is also under construction adjacent to the property.
Polson is located at a major crossroads at the south end of Flathead Lake and is surrounded by the Mission Mountains Wilderness, according to RLHS. Flathead Lake is known for the 2,100-acre Wild Horse Island, where half a dozen wild horses live, along with bighorn sheep, mule deer, bald eagles and falcons. The Flathead River runs through Polson and offers whitewater rafting and fishing adventures. Glacier National Park is north of Flathead Lake on the border of the U.S. and Canada and has more than 760 lakes on more than a million acres.
