BETHESDA, MD—Renaissance Hotels has opened its first hotel in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Renaissance Lagos Ikeja Hotel.
Located a short distance from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, the hotel has 155 guestrooms including 17 contemporary loft suites. Designed with African touches and natural light, the rooms provide expansive seating areas with large LED TVs. Amenities include an outdoor pool with city views and a 24-hour fitness center. In addition, there are eight meeting rooms that can be adapted for a six-person board meeting or a banquet-style event with up to 280 attendees. A dedicated bar and flexible breakout areas complement the meeting areas.
Dining options include Cut, a specialty steakhouse; Iyeru Okin offers a buffet lunch featuring traditional and continental dishes; sweets, aperitifs and lattes are available at the hotel’s coffeehouse, Choco-Latte; and the RBar is open 24-hours.
“… This is not just a landmark signing for Renaissance Hotels but also for Marriott International as it marks our fourth debut in an African nation, following the opening of Marriott International properties across a number of its brands in Ethiopia, Rwanda and Morocco,” said Mark Satterfield, COO, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International.
