Regent, Rosewood Form Alliance

NEW YORK HOTEL BUSINESS. has learned that Carlson Hospitality s Regent International Hotels and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts have formed an alliance through which Rosewood will manage select future Regent properties in an effort to help grow the Regent brand more rapidly. Regent recently named Thomas Huffsmith as president, after the spot had been vacant for several months. Regent also recently appointed Luis Acosta as vp/development, indicating that the company is looking to take a more aggressive stance on growing the luxury chain. (12/5/00) Kelly Wayne
