WASHINGTON, DC Steven Belmonte, president/CEO of Ramada Franchise Systems and evp/Cendant Hotel Division, was named chairman of the American Hotel Foundation (AHF) during AHF s Board of Trustees meeting in New York City. His one-year term will begin on January 1, 2001.
Belmonte succeeds Thomas Hewitt, who has served three consecutive years as chairman of AHF. Belmonte, who has been a trustee of AHF for more than six years, is presently Campaign Lodging Chairman for the recently established New Century Fund Campaign. He has been AHF s secretary for the past three years and assumed the additional role of vice chairman in July 2000. (11/21/00)
