Radisson Hotel Group Americas adds industry veterans to leadership team

Tom Buoy is Radisson Hotel Group Americas' new chief commercial officer.

Radisson Hotel Group Americas has appointed Tom Buoy as EVP/chief commercial officer and Michael Fischer as chief human resources officer. Both newly appointed leaders will join Radisson Hotel Group Americas’ Executive Committee.

In his role, Buoy is responsible for bringing a visionary and thoughtful approach to shaping the commercial strategies, along with building and executing plans to support the success of the company. Fischer leads all aspects of human resources to grow Radisson Hotel Group Americas’ inclusive culture, talent development, employee engagement and sustainability efforts.

“It is my honor to welcome these two outstanding leaders to our company, as they will play a key role within our organization by serving on the Executive Committee and bringing a fresh approach to our commercial and human resources departments,” said Jim Alderman, CEO, Radisson Hotel Group Americas. “Tom and Michael bring with them a combined 50 years of hospitality experience and a tremendous amount of passion for what they do. I have full confidence their expertise will help us grow our company while creating memorable moments for guests, owners and team members.”

Most recently, Buoy served as president/CEO of his own consulting business. During his career, he also led the commercial transformation at Extended Stay America, leveraging a data-driven approach to overhaul the company’s revenue management, marketing and sales processes. Additionally, he served as SVP, customer marketing and revenue management for Morgans Hotel Group (previously Ian Schrager Hotels) and worked in operations and revenue management with Accor Hotels in Australia.

Prior to joining Radisson Hotel Group, Fischer served as chief human resources officer for White Lodging. In this role, he was responsible for all areas of human resources, including talent acquisition; culture development and engagement; total rewards; training and development; talent management; and succession planning. He also served as EVP, human resources for Loews Hotels, and in roles of increasing responsibility at the property level and above in human resources for Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
