NEW YORK— PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP has appointed Scott Berman advisory practice leader of the firms U.S. hospitality and leisure group. Berman will have responsibility for leading client service, marketing, operations and general management of the business unit. Former H&L practice leader Bjorn Hanson, PhD, will focus his efforts on the development of research and “thought leadership” for the firm, bringing his research and statistical skills to support PwCs knowledge management organization. Hanson will continue to be active in client research, strategy, expert witness and other client engagements. Prior to his new position, Berman led the hospitality and leisure practices resort, vacation ownership, sports, convention and leisure specialties, and coordinated advisory services for PwC in the Caribbean and Latin America. He joined PwC in 1992 and was admitted to partnership in 1999. PwC partner Michael French, who currently runs PwCs gaming advisory practice, will assist Berman in his new role by overseeing and coordinating the groups marketing, sales and business development efforts as well as the day-to-day operations in New York and Philadelphia.
