NORWALK, CT Priceline has revamped its growth strategy, dropping at least for now plans to launch b2b, term life insurance and cellular telephone services. The dot-com, which has seen its stock price all but dwindle to nothing lately, said it will continue to offer Name Your Own Price services for leisure airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, home finance, long distance and new cars. Forty-eight positions, or 11% of its workforce has been laid off, according to the company. Priceline said it will launch a new ad campaign next quarter. (12/7/00)
