IRVINE, CA—Pacifica Hotels has appointed Matt Marquis as CEO, succeeding his father, Dale, who founded Pacifica in 1970. Matt served as president for seven years and he will continue in that role.
“My father paved the way for Pacifica Hotels to be a major leader and competitor in the hospitality industry,” said Matt Marquis. “I look forward to building upon the sturdy foundation he established over the last 45 years, while bringing a strong vision for the company’s future growth.” Dale Marquis will move into a chairman role and manage the board of directors.
Pacifica’s focus has shifted heavily to growing and developing a portfolio of independently branded, upscale properties, according to the company. Recently, it introduced The Wayfarer, a lodging concept aimed at Millennials.
Over the past several months, Pacifica Hotels has added to its executive team, promoting Adam Marquis to EVP, Todd Moreau to COO, Daniel Hyde to VP of design, and hiring Stephen Medel, VP of business development.
