NASHVILLE, TN Grand Ole Opry star Porter Wagoner will mark the start of “A Country Christmas” on Nov. 21 when he flips a single switch to illuminate 2 million holiday lights on the outside of Opryland Hotel.

The colorful Christmas lighting display is arranged across the front of the hotel. Horticulture crews have been stringing lights since September.

One of the highlights is the “Southern Lights” arrangement, which was built around the hotels 141-foot-tall flagpole. (10/10/00)
