NATIONAL REPORT—Despite freezing temperatures, the hospitality market is heating up in the Northeast with a number of hotel openings, including a farmhouse property in Massachusetts and the first Cambria in New Jersey.

Briar Barn Inn Opens in Rowley, MA

Bramble Hospitality, the team behind Willowdale Estate, has opened sister property Briar Barn Inn in Rowley, MA.

The property offers guests a farmhouse experience with 30 custom-boutique guestrooms. A wellness spa and a 100-seat restaurant in a custom post-and-beam barn will debut in late February.

Briar Barn Inn is a joint venture between artist Charlotte Forsythe and her husband, architect Gerald Fandetti, along with their daughter Briar Rose Forsythe. Briar established Willowdale Estate, and is also the owner and founder of Bramble Hospitality, the operator of Briar Barn Inn. The four-acre full- service property is the first of its kind in the area, bringing dining, weddings, overnight retreats and a spa to one property.

Cambria Debuts in NJ

Franchised by Choice Hotels International Inc., the Cambria Hotels brand continues its coast-to-coast expansion with the opening of a hotel in West Orange, NJ. The 127-room Cambria Hotel West Orange is the brand’s first hotel in New Jersey and joins its growing portfolio in Northeastern cities, including New York and Philadelphia, with hotels in Boston and Portland, ME, also in the pipeline.

The Cambria Hotel West Orange was developed in collaboration with Bharat Patel of Sun Development & Management Corporation, which builds and operates full- and select-service hotels throughout the United States.

Hilton Garden Inn Princeton-Lawrenceville Opens its Doors

The hotel has easy access to Rider University and Princeton University, as well as Princeton Corporate Park, Bristol-Myers Squibb and the Carnegie Corporate Center. The property is owned and managed by Briad Lodging Group LLC, the hotel division of Livingston, New Jersey-based The Briad Group.
