NATIONAL REPORT—An Omni in the home of the Atlanta Braves, a sanctuary for Nashville’s creative set, and there are more hotels opening or soon to open across the U.S. Here’s a closer look:
Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta
Omni Hotels & Resorts and the Atlanta Braves commemorated the opening of the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta with a ribbon cutting celebration. As the official hotel of the Atlanta Braves, the property is located at The Battery Atlanta, the city’s newest mixed-use complex and home to SunTrust Park, the Coca-Cola Roxy music venue and more.
Tours of the 264-room property featured the hotel’s presidential suite with private terrace and the fifth-floor pool deck.
Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta subtly captures the essence of the city of Atlanta and the traditions of the Braves, according to the company. Shades of red and blue inspired by Braves colors accompany custom artwork throughout the hotel. Guestroom numbers branded into wood paneling—reminiscent of a baseball bat—and framed antique scouting reports are a few of the details that reflect the local color.
Bobby Hotel
The bar with a repurposed 1956 Greyhound tour bus sets the tone for this downtown hub’s edgy aesthetic, tearing a page from Nashville’s grassroots songbook. Slated to open in spring, the nine-story, 144-room Bobby Hotel abuts Printers Alley, a historic cobblestone block turned nano-neighborhood.
The property, located in a reimagined central city space, will be a social refuge for the B-side creative set, according to the company, with four dining venues, including its retrofitted bus that was recently hoisted onto the roof, a signature restaurant, a streetside café and—resuscitating the speakeasies of yore—Bobby’s Garage. Attuned to the city’s distinctive Southern style and artistic diversity, Bobby Hotel forgoes the flounce in favor of seductive luxury, according to the brand.
Bobby Hotel is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Lifestyle Collection. It is the third project from Nashville-based Castlerock, the real estate and development group behind Westin Nashville and The Oak steakhouse.
Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger
With its 70th Anniversary in full stride, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts’ newest addition to its brand portfolio, Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger, will have a soft opening on Feb. 1. A traditional Hawaiian blessing will mark the transition of the former Holiday Inn resort to the Outrigger-branded property.
An extensive $25-million hotel renovation will follow, including all-new guestrooms and meeting spaces, revamped lobby and more. Projected for completion in late summer 2018, the phased renovation schedule is designed specifically to minimize guest disruption, according to the brand.
