NYC Crowne Plaza Responds to COVID-19

NEW YORK—In any travel climate, hotels do what they can to meet the needs of guests. Amid the current coronavirus crisis, Crowne Plaza HY36 here has offered guests who need to travel a new package to put their minds at ease about COVID-19: the Peace of Mind package.

This includes an entire private wing of a floor dedicated to the guest; a guarantee that no one has previously stayed in the room 14 days prior to the guest’s arrival; private or executive escort to the room, bypassing the check-in process; access to a private elevator with an optional escort; in-room face mask, gloves and hand sanitizer; and room service left outside the door for all meals.

“This package was created in direct response to guest concerns about taking the proper precautions to combat the virus. We also wanted to ensure that anyone who was still required to travel could feel at ease during these particularly unsettling times,” said Annie Schechter, director of operations at Crowne Plaza HY36.

“With sanitation, social distancing and cleanliness a top priority, we decided to make use of our resources to give guests peace of mind knowing they could bypass all other guests and workers—avoiding human-to-human contact to engage in the social distancing that we’ve been encouraged to participate in,” she added. “Our goal here is to give our guests a safe space and peace of mind amidst the uncertainty.”
