WHITE PLAINS, NY- The Sheraton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa will open on October 15 in French Polynesia. The 106-room luxury hotel will be managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, making it the second of three that it intends to manage on the island.

Earlier this year, the Sheraton Hotel Tahiti, in Papeete, opened and, in 2002, a resort will open on Bora Bora.

Set on a private, 10-acre lagoon, the Sheraton Moorea will offer a variety of amenities, including: a fitness club, tennis, fishing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, SCUBA diving and yachting. The resort will also have a business center, gift boutique, currency exchange, laundry and same-day dry cleaning. (10/12/00)
