The Pendry Manhattan West lobby

Openings in top-tier markets include the first Pendry hotel in New York City, a food-centric property in Atlanta and a Selina location in Chicago.

Pendry Manhattan West
Pendry Hotels & Resorts has opened Pendry Manhattan West, the brand’s first hotel in New York City. In collaboration with Brookfield Properties, the hotel was designed by architectural design firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and features 164 guestrooms, including 30 suites, each with interiors by Gachot Studios and lighting by L’Observatoire International.

The hotel offers more than 6,000 sq. ft. of multi-purpose entertainment and meeting venues; a fitness center equipped with Peloton and Technogym equipment; and a curated art collection with works of art from both New York City and Los Angeles based artists. The property also has three food and beverage outlets: Bar Pendry, Garden Room and signature restaurant, Zou Zou’s.

Debuting as the fifth property to open as part of the Pendry portfolio, the hotel’s design was inspired by the West Coast Light and Space Movement of the 1960s and ‘70s.

Epicurean Atlanta, an Autograph Collection Hotel
The Epicurean Atlanta, a food and wine-centric hotel, has opened as a member of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection and the second location of the Epicurean Hotel brand. A collaboration between Mainsail Lodging & Development and the legendary Bern’s Steak House in Tampa, FL, the hotel is located in one of three towers located in the 1105 West Peachtree property by Selig Development.

Designed by Atlanta-based Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio, the 16-story property has 178 guestrooms, including 22 suites; a fitness center; a resort-style pool area with cabanas and butler service; and 11,000-sq.-ft. of indoor and outdoor function space, including an event lawn. The hotel is anchored by three dining concepts—the signature Reverence restaurant; Aerial Kitchen & bar on the 9th level Sky Terrace; and The Office Bar—as well as the 1,964-sq.-ft. Epicurean Theatre, where guests can watch and learn from chefs and mixologists.

Selina Chicago
Selina, the experiential brand targeting Millennial and Gen Z travelers, has opened Selina Chicago in the city’s Gold Coast neighborhood.

The 122-room property spanning 16 floors features a combination of community rooms, lofts, apartments, suites and hybrid rooms. It also includes a communal kitchen, library, cinema and wellness center.

The full-service HOWM Cafe & Concept Store is a multifunctional bar, cafe, restaurant & concept store. The different spaces transform from day to night depending on the programming, from art exhibitions by local universities, fashion pop-ups, record fairs and comedy nights. The spaces can also have different programming happening simultaneously in the bar and main restaurant & retail space.
