WASHINGTON D.C.- Marriott and CNL Hospitality will begin construction on the five-story, 950-room Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix in late October. The project carries a pricetag of $255- to $300-million and has been on the drawing board since 1998.
Marriott will manage Dessert Ridge for CNL upon its completion, targeted for November 2002. The new Marriott will feature a contemporary Southwestern design by San Francisco architect Mark Hornbeger, who designed the Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale. (9/1/00)
