NEWPORT NEWS, VA—Mumford Company, a full-service hospitality brokerage advisory firm, has appointed George Arvanitis as managing director. In this role, Arvanitis, a 27-year veteran in the financial services section, will be based out of the Chicago office focused on bringing his expertise in real estate brokerage, development, leasing and finance.
Previously, Arvanitis successfully closed both full- and limited-service hotels with IHG, Choice, Best Western and Grandstay. He founded A.G. Commercial in 2008, a boutique commercial real estate company in Chicago, and successfully developed and secured financing for a turnkey Walgreens store in the midst of the 2008-2009 financial crisis, worked with 7-Eleven regarding site selections in Illinois and Indiana, and financed numerous multifamily and retail properties. In addition, he spent several years in recreational land development with 4 Rivers Realty.
