BETHESDA, MD—Moxy Hotels, Marriott International’s new lifestyle brand, has opened its latest hotel in Munich. Moxy Munich Airport will offer the style of a boutique hotel at an affordable price point, according to the company. The first Moxy Hotel opened in Milan in 2014.
“Moxy offers a new way of traveling where affordability is not a sacrifice of style, nor a loss of comfort,” said Amy McPherson, president and managing director, Marriott International, Europe “At Moxy Munich when we say: ‘less is more’ we accentuate more. Not less.”
The interiors will fuse refined and raw materials; organic and linear lines; and shared spaces. The Moxy experience will kick-off with a bright and airy lobby featuring modern furniture.
Moxy Munich’s living room highlights include sealed concrete floors; walls lined with art and references to local culture; ambient lighting; and accents of color. The tech-enabled space provides free WiFi and ample power and USB outlets.
Located five minutes from Munich Airport’s main terminal, the 252 guestrooms are outfitted with sound-reducing walls, 42-in. LCD flat-screen televisions, free WiFi, deep-seated armchairs and a floor-to-ceiling art piece. The design is functional with simple touches including glass shelving and open closets. In the bathroom there are complimentary Muk toiletries, pink hair dryers, power showers and large mirrors alongside a spacious vanity area.
The Moxy dining area offers a variety of options for food and drink including a coffee bar. The property features nine flexible meeting rooms individually designed with natural daylight.
The hotel is one of five Moxy Hotels planned to open in Europe in 2016, with additional properties located in Berlin and Eschborn in Germany and Aberdeen and London Royal Docks in the U.K.
