HERRIN, IL? Monchino Management LLC announced the signing of a management agreement with Reed Station Hotels to manage a new Hampton Inn in Carbondale, IL. The 80-room hotel is currently under construction and scheduled to open in the spring of 2000. Monchino Management also announced the conversion of three AmeriHost Inns to Best Westerns. One property is located in Muncie, IN, and is owned by Lockeroom Limited Partners. Another is in Oxford, OH and owned by the Oxford Motel Inn Limited Partnership. The third property, owned by Norwalk Hotel Limited, is in Norwalk, OH. Monchino Management manages all three properties. The management company was formed last year by Michael Monchino and currently has seven management contracts totaling 532 rooms in four states. Franchises managed by the firm include Best Western, Hampton Inn, Best Suites and Holiday Inn Express. ?At this time, we are a small company,? Monchino said. ?How long we will remain a small company will be dictated by the securing of additional management contracts and the purchasing of properties.? Monchino has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. He joined America?s Best Inns (Best Inns and Best Suites) in 1983 and served as the firm?s executive vp for 15 years. When U.S.Franchise Systems purchased Best Inns in 1998, Monchino remained with the firm as senior vp for a newly-formed, wholly-owned subsidiary, USFS Management. He then left USFS to launch his own firm.
