Honolulu–Waikikis landmark Moana Surfrider will add the Westin brand on June 1.The rebranded Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort, will be Westin Hotels & Resorts first property on Oahu. The hotel, built in 1901, has been undergoing renovations that include a revitalized lobby featuring hardwood floors, new furniture and lighting fixtures, and flat-screen televisions in guest rooms. Upgrades to guest rooms in the historic Banyan Wing are planned for later this year, while a beachfront spa will open in early 2008. Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts LP owns the four Starwood hotels in Waikiki, including the Moana Surfrider, as well as the Sheraton Maui.
