WASHINGTON D.C. At MeriStar Hotels & Resorts annual investor and analyst meeting, held on Monday, December 4, 2000, Chairman/CEO Paul Whetsell said that there would probably be a series of announcements coming out on management contracts that we d approved but hadn t been able to announce yet. He characterized his company s overall prospects for signing new management contracts in 2001 as pretty solid. Asked whether the widely expected decline in supply for the next year will impact MeriStar Hotels & Resorts ability to sign new contracts, Whetsell noted: We ve never gotten more contracts in the past five years in new properties than we did this past year.
