DOHA, QATAR— Meliá Hotels International has opened Meliá Doha here in the West Bay region.

“We are ecstatic to enter the evolving Qatari market with the introduction of Meliá Doha, the country’s first five-star Spanish hotel, located within the West Bay region,” commented Gabriel Escarrer, vice chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International. “The Middle East is a key growth market for Meliá Hotels International and we anticipate significant interest from both the business and leisure markets as the region continues to evolve and grow.”

With 280 rooms and 37 suites, ranging from the Executive Suite to the Royal Suite, Meliá Doha is located 10 minutes from Hamad International Airport, and offers guests access to Qatar’s financial, shopping and diplomatic district. It is also located close to the Corniche, a waterfront promenade.

Meliá Doha’s Royal Suite is one of the five most spacious suites in the West Bay of Doha, according to the company. The Royal Suite is 4,693 sq. ft. and is located on the 39th floor, the top floor of the skyscraper.

Meliá Doha offers three restaurants: Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor offers Indian fine dining with a modern twist; Aceite Restaurant reflects the hotel’s Spanish roots, offering traditional tapas; and Nidaaya All Day Dining has international cuisine with live cooking stations. Plus, Meliá Doha features RiQQa, a modern boutique and coffee shop; Noir, the hotel’s cocktail bar; and Le Pool Club, a more casual option for snacks and drinks, located on the third floor.

The hotel will introduce Doha to Melia’s signature service concept, The Level, where guests are invited to enjoy complimentary open bar and food presentations, exclusive access to The Level Lounge, early check-in, late check-out and access to a conference room and private airport transfers.

Meliá Doha also features both a health club, equipped with a gym, and a temperature controlled pool.
