MIDLAND, TX—MCR Development LLC has completed a renovation of the Residence Inn by Marriott Midland, a 131-room hotel here. Situated at the intersection of Interstate 20 and Route 250, it is close to Security Bank Ballpark, home of the Midland Rockhounds, an affiliate of MLB’s Oakland Athletics.
The renovation involved updating the furniture and decor in all guestrooms and public spaces. The lobby and meeting room were also redesigned, and the fitness center was revamped and received new exercise equipment and free-weights.
The city of Midland is at the geographic center of the Permian Basin and serves as a hub for large energy-producing corporations such as Chevron and Occidental Petroleum, according to MCR. The hotel is also in proximity to the Texas Surgical Center and the PGA-accredited Nueva Vista Golf Club.
