Marriott Names Fallon Exec Chef Of The Year

PHOENIX— JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa Executive Chef Robert Fallon has been recognized as Marriott’s ACE (Award Culinary Excellence) Executive Chef of the year for 2005. Since 1998, Marriott has recognized outstanding executive chefs in Marriott and Renaissance Hotels with the ACE Award. The Chef of the Year award is given to the highest scoring nominee for each brand. The criteria to win the ACE award includes measurable improvement in overall dining, outstanding achievement in culinary excellence, creativity and innovation, training and development of others, leadership and personal development. Fallon received top ratings in all of these categories. A Culinary Institute of America graduate, Fallon has served as sous chef, banquet chef or executive chef at a variety of hotels, including the LaGuardia Marriott, Marriott Essex House, New York Marriott Marquis, Santa Clara Marriott, Forsgate Country Club in New Jersey, Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta and the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. The 950-room JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix has a variety of dining options, ranging from casual poolside fare at Just a Splash to fine dining at Ristorante Tuscany. The resort has 200,000-sf of indoor and outdoor banquet/meeting space and 24-hour in-room dining.
