LOS CABOS, MEXICO—Marquis Los Cabos, an all-inclusive, adults-only resort located near the tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, has opened its doors following a $10-million renovation and redesign. The property is under the management of Hoteles Marquis.
The redefined all-suite resort features 235 oceanfront rooms, with views of the Sea of Cortés; upgraded in-room amenities; newly whitewashed exterior; and signature Marquis guest services.
“We are committed to providing a memorable first-class experience here at Marquis Los Cabos, and are pleased to reintroduce the enhanced property to our guests, both new and returning,” said Alma Lopez, corporate director of sales, Marquis Los Cabos.
The new look begins in the open-air lobby, complete with a 40-ft. cascading waterfall and views of the sea. Sculptures and original works of art by Latin American artists are on display in the lobby and throughout the resort. Guests can take in the views from three pools, two of which are infinity-edge.
All 235 suites across five categories—203 deluxe suites, 26 one-bedroom casitas, five master suites with private plunge pool and a two-bedroom presidential suite—have been fully revamped with new beds, linens, minibars, L’Occitane bath amenities, hydro-massage tubs and furnished outdoor terraces. Suites range in size from 650 sq. ft. to 2,600 sq. ft.
Leading the culinary team is Executive Chef Thierry Dufour, a French-born master chef who oversees the menus at the resort’s signature Canto Del Mar and three specialty restaurants, the renovated and newly redecorated Vista Ballenas, Dos Mares and Asian-fusion Sakke restaurant.
Rounding out the resort-wide enhancements are a newly built seaside gazebo, and a partnership with Natura Bissé, the award-winning, Barcelona-based skincare brand for an exclusive menu of signature treatments, including the Marquis Los Cabos Rose Treatment, at the 15,000 sq. ft. Marquis Spa.
In addition, Marquis Los Cabos offers guests an array of activities and entertainment. Highlights include a full fitness center, three pools, nightly shows and live music, weekly themed parties, movies under the stars, Ping-Pong, wine pairings, tequila tasting, dance lessons, cooking classes, scuba diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and camel rides through the desert.
