LOS ANGELES—The Mani Brothers Real Estate Group (MBRG) has named Gregory Day president of luxury hospitality, effective Sept. 9. Day, the former general manager of Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, will also serve as GM of the firm’s Malibu Beach Inn.
The Malibu Beach Inn is the group’s first venture into luxury hospitality, acquired in March from entertainment executive David Geffen.
Day was GM of Shutters on the Beach for eight years and previously served for 14 years with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in multiple capacities at properties from San Francisco to Toronto to New Orleans. Previous to that, he headed aspects of the food and beverage divisions for the Pebble Beach Resorts in Northern California at both The Lodge at Pebble Beach and the Inn at Spanish Bay.
The hotel, located near the Malibu Pier, has 47 guestrooms, all with in-room wine selections, slate-bordered fireplaces and oversize balconies. It also features the Carbon Beach Club, the inn’s gourmet restaurant.
Headquartered in West Hollywood, MBRG is a privately held real estate investment firm that owns, renovates, operates, manages and leases 1.3 million sq. ft. of real estate.
