Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown

NATIONAL REPORT—In management news: Driftwood Hospitality Management’s Canopy by Hilton in Downtown West Palm Beach broke ground; Twenty Four Seven Hotels adds to its leadership team; Crescent Hotels & Resorts acquired a new management contract; and Interstate Hotels & Resorts introduced a new lifestyle management division, Intrigue Hotels & Resorts by Interstate.

Driftwood Hospitality Management Breaks Ground in Florida
Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown this week broke ground. The property, which is expected to open in early 2019, will be managed by Driftwood Hospitality Management. The 150-room property will have 14 floors, a gym, a transfer lounge, 5,000 sq. ft. of event space, a rooftop pool and bar lounge, and a lobby level restaurant café. The property will also have mobile check-in, bicycles, WiFi, breakfast and evening tastings of local beer, wine and spirits—all complimentary. At night, the café bar takes center stage for serving small bites and beverages.

Twenty Four Seven Hotels Adds to Leadership Team
Twenty Four Seven Hotels has appointed Janet Fioriti as its VP of operations. In her new role, she is expected to provide strategic direction and leadership for the entire portfolio, which includes overseeing all aspects of hotel operations and guest services.

Fioriti has more than 25 years of hospitality experience and began her career at Marriott International. She went on to hold executive positions for Huntington Hotel Group, Excel Hotel Group and Sage Hospitality. She later served as VP of asset management for ABA Development, managing its portfolio of Hyatt Place hotels and playing a leadership role in underwriting a $200-million hotel fund for a new property development. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for the performance of many hotel brands, including those in the Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Hyatt family of brands.

Crescent Hotels & Resorts to Manage Homewood Suites in Ohio
Crescent Hotels & Resorts has been selected to manage the Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus/OSU in Columbus, OH. The newly built, upper-upscale, extended-stay all-suite hotel has a complimentary hot breakfast buffet in the Homewood Lodge, a 24-hour Suite Shop for snacks and essentials, free internet access, a 24-hour business center, modern meeting space, a fitness center and a indoor pool.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts Introduces New Lifestyle Division
Interstate Hotels & Resorts introduced a new lifestyle management division, Intrigue Hotels & Resorts by Interstate. According to the management company, the new division brings a modern, tech-centric, lifestyle-focused management psyche to a variety of independent and soft-branded properties including urban boutique hotels, upscale restaurants, spa retreats and international properties. The leadership team for the new division will be based in Arlington, VA, and New York City.
