LAS VEGAS- The Maloof family, who created and oversaw the successful Fiesta Casino Hotel, broke ground on their new $265 million resort, the Palms Casino Hotel.
Scheduled to open in December 2001, the Palms will provide Las Vegas with a major, new destination. The new 470-room property will offer an eclectic mix of restaurants and bars, a spa and salon, movie theaters, a 1,200-seat multi-use entertainment venue, a 10,000-square-foot banquet/conference facility and a 95,000-square-foot casino.
Located on a 32-acre site across the street from the Rio and Gold Coast casinos, the Palms will feature a 40-story tower. (10/24/00)
