ORLANDO, FL—Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando yesterday officially checked in its first guests to the 1,000-room hotel.
The opening marks a milestone for Loews Hotels; it represents the first time two Loews properties have been connected. Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, with 115,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space—set to debut this fall—connects with Loews Royal Pacific Resort, which offers 1,000 rooms and nearly 135,000 sq. ft. of meeting and function space.
The Caribbean-inspired hotel brings the number of Universal Orlando on-site hotel rooms to 5,200.
Complex Managing Director Barb Bowden described Loews Sapphire Falls Resort as “a stunning addition to Universal Orlando’s already stellar line-up of hotels.”
Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando is the company’s fifth hotel in partnership with Comcast NBC Universal.
Loews currently has three brands: Loews Hotels & Resorts, Loews Regency and OE Collection, and owns and/or operates 24 hotels and resorts across the United States and Canada.
