NEW YORK—For the second year, the Loews Regency New York Hotel will invite four-legged friends and their owners to celebrate National Dog Day at its Yappy Hour on Aug. 26 from 5-8 p.m. at Sant Ambroeus Café and indulge in canine-themed treats for a worthy cause.
During the event, Jessica Miracola of Blissed Out Barklyn, a certified animal massage practitioner, will provide 10-minute massage sessions for a nominal donation. Pets will experience a massage that targets stress relief, pain relief, recovery from injuries and surgeries, or just simple relaxation. All proceeds from the sessions will go directly to Bideawee, the leading pet welfare organization serving metropolitan New York and Long Island.
The hotel has also partnered with Sylvia, the upcoming Broadway production that tells the story of a New York couple and their relationship with an engaging canine. Attendees of Yappy Hour will have an opportunity to hear more about the show and will receive discount offers on show tickets.
In honor of National Dog Day, Sant Ambroeus Café will be serving a complimentary specialty cocktail called Sylvia in addition to “puppyccinos” for the canine companions.
The evening will culminate in a silent auction, with prizes including two tickets to Sylvia, an overnight stay at Loews Regency Hotel New York, dinner for two at The Regency Bar & Grill and a photo shoot with photographer Andrew Werner, who will be in attendance photographing the event. All proceeds raised as a result of the silent auction will also be donated to Bideawee.
