Loews Names Kirk Kinsell President/CEO

NEW YORK—Loews Hotels & Resorts has named industry veteran Kirk Kinsell as president/CEO effective March 2. Current CEO Paul Whetsell will remain in the post until that time and will then become vice chairman of Loews Hotels & Resorts.

Both executives will report to Jonathan Tisch, who will continue as chairman.

Kinsell makes the move from his position as president, The Americas for IHG, where he has spent 19 years in senior positions. He has more than 35 years in the hospitality business.

Prior to IHG, Kinsell was with ITT Sheraton and Trammell Crow Hotel Co.

Loews Hotels & Resorts owns and/or operates 23 hotels and resorts across the U.S. and Canada, including two newly acquired Midwest locations: the Loews Minneapolis Hotel and the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel, a new-build, 400-room property that willl debut downtown in February.
