ATLANTA—Hotel Business has learned that Morris Lasky, conference chairperson and cofounder of the Lodging Conference in Phoenix, has passed away at the age of 78.

Lasky was also CEO of Lodging Unlimited, Inc., a management firm based in Chicago, and totaled some 40 years of hospitality experience. He also served as CEO and founder of the LUI Group and Lodging Opportunities Group.

The Lodging Conference, which is held annually at the Arizona Biltmore, got its start some 21 years ago.

Besides his affiliation with the Lodging Conference, Lasky was the co-chair, founder and producer of The Hotel Investment Networking Conference (THINC) and the International Hotel Conference (IHC).

Lasky, who underwent a long battle with cancer, is survived by his wife Mary Lou Koys.
