INDIANAPOLIS—Le Méridien Indianapolis has officially opened, following a $13-million transformation of the 1928 building.

Owned by Rockbridge, its development affiliate, RB Hotel Development, aided in the renovation. The hotel’s updates combined subtle influences from the city’s rich racing history, geography and art culture with Le Méridien’s European touches, according to the company. The exterior facade has remained unchanged to preserve the building’s historic significance.

Le Méridien Indianapolis features 100 guestrooms, including 10 suites with contemporary and midcentury influenced furnishings, more than 2,600 sq. ft. of upgraded meeting space and a new fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment. The first and second floors were completely reconfigured, creating space for the new dining option, Spoke & Steele.

The 12-story boutique hotel is only the second Rockbridge property worldwide to offer king-size double-bedded rooms, a departure from the typical queen-size double-bedded room. Each guestroom will offer complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access, ergonomic workspaces, 47-in. flat screens in all guestrooms, as well as 55-in. flat screens in all of the suites, pillow-top LM Beds and LED Mirror TVs in each suite bathroom.

The 160-seat restaurant Spoke & Steele features American fare. It will also introduce a custom cocktail club, allowing members to have a rotating house-made cocktail in their own personalized bottle. The custom-branded bottles will be refilled monthly with a seasonal libation. The bar will display the bottles as the centerpiece of the room. Spoke & Steele will also feature the Steve McQueen-inspired private drinking room and a separate private dining room.
