WEST PALM BEACH, FL—Kolter Hospitality, a division of The Kolter Group, has hired Jim Donovan as the director of sales and marketing for Westin Sarasota Hotel. Donovan will be responsible for the oversight of all aspects of sales, revenues and marketing including group, leisure and transient sales.
Prior to joining Kolter, Donovan spent nearly 13 years with Driftwood Hospitality and recently as the regional director of sales & marketing overseeing a portfolio of 11 hotels including Starwood & Hilton branded hotels. Donovan also has held several director of marketing positions, including with Marriott Hotels & Resorts as well as with Barceló Hotels.

The Westin Sarasota Hotel will open this year and feature 255 guestrooms and suites; 14,500 sq. ft. of meetings space; spa and signature restaurant; and rooftop deck with pool and tapas bar overlooking Sarasota Bay.

Kolter Hospitality, based here, specializes in hotel management, development and acquisitions in the hospitality sector. The company operates five hotels totaling 710 keys and is in the development and construction stages for additional hotel projects in Florida, including Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, Fort Lauderdale, Sarasota and St. Petersburg, which will grow the portfolio to 1,880 keys total.
