ATLANTA—The Joplin Hotel began a $6-million, full-scale renovation process this week to convert the property to a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.
Conor Acquisitions Group, owner of the hotel, plans to reconfigure the guestrooms, meeting space and public areas of the five-story hotel building located in central Joplin, MO. The company expects the grand opening to occur in April 2016.
In June, Conor tapped Atlanta-based Hotel Equities, their management partner, to manage the hotel.
“In order to push ahead with construction and complete the renovation as quickly as possible, we are limiting reservations at this time,” said General Manager Glynn Knight. “Our priority is always the comfort and convenience of our guests as we prepare to deliver the best full-service hotel in the region.”
Located adjacent to the Joplin Convention & Trade Center with its 30,000 sq. ft. of convention space, the hotel itself will offer over 15,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, plus a lobby bar and restaurant.
