SAN FRANCISCO—Hyatt Hotels has promoted Michael Jokovich to Area VP Northern California.

After nearly six years as general manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, Jokovich has returned to the mainland to provide oversight operations at six Hyatt properties in the Bay Area: Grand Hyatt San Francisco, the property where he will be based and solely responsible for, Hyatt Regency San Francisco, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, Hyatt Regency Sacramento, Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, and Andaz Napa.

Jokovich will continue to report to Jordan Meisner, SVP Field Operations. The Area VP position is a newly introduced role for Hyatt Hotels. In addition to managing their own hotel, Area VPs have oversight over a group of hotels providing supervisory and counsel to the properties in their area.

“I am thrilled to be involved in this new era for Hyatt, and help define the Area Vice President role as we implement this new position,” stated Jokovich. “I was honored to have played such an integral part in the Hawaiian tourism industry, and am eager to bring my hospitality experience and enthusiasm to another thriving travel destination – San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.”
