A groundbreaking was held this week for the first of 40 My Place hotels by Eller Enterprises.

ALTOONA, IA—My Place Hotels of America franchisee Matthew Eller of Eller Enterprises plans to build 40 My Place hotels in 10 years, according to the company.

“If you’re going to do one, why not do two? If you’re going to do two, why not do 40? That’s our philosophy,” Eller said.

Eller made the announcement at the first of two Des Moines area ceremonies that took place here, where his first My Place, a three-story, 64-unit hotel, is underway at 2315 Adventureland Dr. Eller’s second site is located in Ankeny, IA. Both extended-stay hotels are expected to open later this year.

My Place Hotels of America currently has 32 hotels open and operating with a near-term pipeline of 32 additional hotels and mid-term commitments for upwards of 40 more hotels to follow, according to the company.
