INTERNATIONAL REPORT—InterContinental, Rezidor Hotel Group and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group have global properties in the opening or development stages. Here’s a look at what’s new:

InterContinental Perth City Centre
InterContinental is set to open its latest property in Perth, Australia, on Oct. 15. The 16-story InterContinental Perth City Centre will be situated in the King Street Precinct and will have 240 guestrooms, studios and suites as well as Club InterContinental, a collection of new dining and bar options plus a meeting suite concept.

Designed by Woods Bagot, the property’s design details include sandstone-walled lobby spaces, sculptural statements, distinct lighting, glass-encased stairwells and upgraded furnishings.

Radisson Red Riga
The Rezidor Hotel Group, a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, has signed the first Radisson Red in Riga, Latvia, in collaboration with the Astor Group. The 220-room hotel is expected to open its doors by 2020.

“Radisson Red will add a new vibe to Riga,” said Elie Younes, EVP & chief development officer of The Rezidor Hotel Group. “Our lifestyle select brand complements our leading presence in the market and dominant position within the Baltic States. It offers a unique experience to our guests and a compelling value proposition to owners and developers.”

Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is set to manage a luxury hotel project in Beijing that is expected to open in 2018. Located in a traditional hutong quarter, close to Tiananmen Square, the hotel will provide luxury living with traditional and authentic Beijing surroundings, according to the brand.

Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing is located within the Qianmen East Hutong Quarter, which is undergoing a process of preservation and regeneration. Hutongs date back to the 13th century and comprise traditional courtyard houses connected by narrow lanes and alleyways. The hotel will be dispersed throughout the Qianmen East Hutong Quarter alongside privately owned traditional residences, retail outlets, restaurants, bars and cultural venues.

Developed by Beijing Tianjie Group Company Limited, the hotel’s amenities will include on-site dining venues located within the hutong courtyards, including an all-day dining concept with a roof terrace, a Chinese restaurant, a lobby lounge, a traditional tea lounge and a signature Mandarin cake shop. The property will also have multipurpose function rooms.
