NEW YORK- Today at the IH/M&RS Conference, the winners of the 2000 Chefs Championships Awards were announced, awarding first place finishers with $2,000, while second and third place took home $500 and $250, respectively.
Winning first place in the pasta category, which was sponsored by Walker Foods, was Franco Brattoli of the Columbia Inn, Montville, NJ. Brattolis award-winning dish was Manicaretti Lorraine.
The grand prize winner of the patisserie category, sponsored by Hazelnut Council, was Daniel Scannell of the Oak Hill Country Club, Rochester, NY. The chicken category was won by Jennifer Brown of the New England Culinary Institute, Essex Junction, VT. (11/12/00)
