JEKYLL ISLAND, GA—IHG has opened the Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island hotel. The resort recently underwent a $22-million transformation funded by the ownership.
The Holiday Inn Resort brand portfolio, currently at 42 properties worldwide, experienced growth in the U.S. with both the opening of the Holiday Inn Resort Fort Walton Beach hotel and the signing of the Holiday Inn Resort-Pagosa Springs hotel in 2014.
“With locations around the world, the Holiday Inn brand plays an important role in the journeys of guests wherever they travel—from the boardroom to the beach,” said Maurice Cooper, VP, Holiday Inn brand, The Americas, IHG. “The Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island, our first resort in Georgia, provides both the warm service and modern amenities our guests expect and an immersive experience in the Golden Isles, creating lasting memories and unforgettable family vacations.”
The three-story property will have 157 guestrooms, including 21 suites. Guests can take advantage of complimentary Internet access, a quarter mile of private beach, a poolside lounge and access to numerous outdoor land- and sea-based activities including bike rentals, beach chair and umbrella rentals, paddle boarding and skim boarding. For families traveling with kids, the hotel offers a Kid’s Club with daily activities and, in the winter months, guests can enjoy the Snowbird Activities Program.
The Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island hotel is owned by Georgia Coast Holdings, LLC, and managed by NorthPointe Hospitality Management, LLC.
