HOUSTON— Tim Miller, who spent 16 years of his career working alongside Ian Schrager, has established a new boutique/lifestyle hotel brand of his own called Alden Hotels. Set to formally debut through the opening of its first prototype property in Houston in September, Alden Hotels promises to provide guests with world-class, unparalleled service that is a world apart from old-world luxury hotel service. The brand’s emphasis will also be on fostering a connection between guests and staff and allowing guests to take in a unique experience that embodies “easy living.” Designed by Whitney & Whitney, the first Alden Hotel in Houston will feature a clean, simple and fresh design. Ninety-seven guestrooms will be found at the property and they will each offer supple brown leather padded headboards on the beds and a Russian Labrador, blue granite bathroom. The hotel’s open, second floor veranda will be used for meetings and events. Tim Miller, who worked as Ian Schrager’s senior vp of brand management, leads Alden Hotels as its president. He now plans on establishing a collection of small, intimate properties for the new brand.
